The World of BDaMan

Since I haven’t said too many words since I got the acceptance letter, I figured I’d finally speak about it in full detail.

When I came back into my house from work, I just expected to take my usual nap after work and go about my normal Saturday-after-work activities. To my surprise and somewhat confusion, I see a letter from the University of Minnesota on the ground of my porch floor. My first thought is, “Another letter from the U, I bet it’s another reminder that they need some more stuff from me before they review my application.” I open the letter and see part of the first third of the folded letter.

“Dear Bryce,

Congratulations!”

After I see that part, I stop reading for a second and wonder if this was what I think it meant. I keep reading and see the rest.

“I am very pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities for fall 2013.”

I yell, “Oh my god!” and run out to the living room to tell my Mom I got accepted into the U. She reads it briefly and says, “Nice!”

Then from there, I had to call and text some of the most important people in my life. My Grandmas, my Dad, my older Stepbrother, my Sister, my Aunts and my close homies. Figured I had to let all of them know before I sent it out to the social media world about this great piece of news.

I wanted to say Thank You to all of you who have supported me throughout the years and helped me get to this point.

Special thanks go out to: My Mom, my Dad, my wonderful Grandmas, my Aunts, Granny (R.I.P), my siblings (Brice, Nadia, Jabri and Jaylon), The Smash City crew, New Life, Comeback Pack (Corey and Phil), my co-workers at Walgreens, my now former manager from Walgreens – Jonathan Kramer, all of my cousins and the rest of my family and close friends I didn’t mention.
